Introduction of Knowledge and Working Principle of Pneumatic Aluminium Alloy Ball Valve

A pneumatic aluminium alloy ball valve is widely used in the industry. The following describes the knowledge and working principle of a pneumatic aluminium alloy ball valve.

A pneumatic aluminium alloy ball valve is evolved from a plug valve. It has the same 90-degree rotation action, the difference is that the plug body is a sphere, with a circular through hole or passage through its axis. The ratio between the sphere and the passage port should be such that when the sphere rotates 90 degrees, the sphere should be present at the inlet and outlet, so as to cut off the flow. This kind of valve can be installed at any position in the pipeline.

A pneumatic ball valve is equipped with a pneumatic actuator. The pneumatic actuator is relatively fast in execution, with the fastest switch speed of 0.05s/time, so it is also called pneumatic quick cut-off ball valve. A pneumatic ball valve is usually equipped with various accessories, such as solenoid valve, gas source processing triplet, limit switch, positioner, control box, etc., to achieve local control and remote centralized control, and the valve can be controlled in the control room.

The working principle of the pneumatic aluminium alloy ball valve is as follows:

  • 1. When the pneumatic actuator is connected with the circuit and system air source, the air enters the cylinder a (cylinder b) through the pipe a or B to push the piston to move towards one end, so as to drive the rotating shaft and the ball core to rotate 90 °.
  • 2. The top of the pneumatic actuator is connected with the visualizer. When the green mark points to the “on” word, it indicates that the valve is open.
  • 3. When the green light of the annunciator is on, the valve is in the open position, and when the red light is on, the valve is in the closed position.
  • 4. The positioner can adjust the flow of valve pipeline 5. The valve seat adopts elastic sealing structure, reliable sealing and easy opening and closing.
  • 6. The valve rod adopts the bottom-mounted structure with a back seal, and the valve rod will not be impacted when the valve cavity is abnormally pressurized.
  • 7. The pneumatic piston actuator is made of low friction material into the bearing sleeve, and the inner and outer surfaces of the cylinder block are treated with hard anodizing anti-corrosion treatment, greatly improving the service life of the cylinder.
